1:6:1 Current Version

The ACoP is a living document. The current version is Version 1.0, issued in January 2026. All members are expected to work to the current version, and previous versions are archived for reference but should not be used for compliance purposes.

The version number is displayed at the start of the document and within the footer of each page in the online knowledgebase, so that members can always be certain they are looking at the most up-to-date standard.

1:6:2 Review Cycle

The ACoP is reviewed annually by the SCA Technical Committee. The review process involves considering changes in legislation, feedback from members, and any issues raised during audits. Where updates are required, they are drafted by the committee, checked against legal requirements, and approved before being published.

Members are notified of changes through the SCA newsletter and via alerts in the member portal. This ensures that everyone is aware of updates and can adjust their practices accordingly.

1:6:3 Change Log

Each update to the ACoP is recorded in a change log, which provides a summary of what has been added, removed, or revised. This log is accessible to members and provides transparency about how the Code has evolved over time.

For example, if allergen labelling requirements are updated, the change log would note the relevant section number, explain the update in plain language, and provide a link to further guidance. This gives members clarity about what has changed and why, reducing confusion and making it easier to stay compliant.
